Electrical licences are required to ensure that qualified individuals perform electrical work.
All electrical system construction work must be done by a provincially licenced electrician who is employed by a licenced electrical contractor.
Eligibility Requirements
- Electrician - To qualify for an Electrician's Licence, applicants must hold a New Brunswick Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) in the electrical trade.
- Electrical Contractor - To qualify for an electrical contractor licence, applicants must hold a New Brunswick Electrician's Licence, must have two (2) years of experience as a journeyman electrician, must have successfully completed a contractor's exam or must be an employee with qualifications and must pass the contractor's exam.
